Portraits of ancestors hang on the walls.

ORIN--(harshly) Were you hoping you could escape retribution? You can't! Confess and atone to the full extent of the law! That's the only way to wash the guilt of our mother's blood from our souls!
LAVINIA--(distractedly) Ssshh! Will you stop!
ORIN--Ask our father, the J U D G E, if it isn't! He knows! He keeps telling me!
LAVINIA--Oh, God! Over and over and over! Will you never lose your stupid guilty conscience! Don't you see how you torture me? You're becoming my guilty conscience, too!

Very powerful shot... His ancestors floating around him - you can't escape your past, right?

Personally, I think the shot would've been even stronger, if the model was looking straight into the camera.

I disagree with the first comment here, I think the closed eyes adds to it. But I already told you that.

Lovely. I like it with the eyes closed as well.

I really like how the portraits are off-set just a bit, beautiful portrait :)

Thank you very much for your comment !
I considered a version with the eyes open but I gave up, for it conveyed too much strength to the character, which was thought of as passive in my imagination, as opposed to the ancestors that all look straight to the camera, dare I say.

Take care,
